Jasper Schuringa is a video director and producer from Amsterdam. He is the brave passenger of Amsterdam-to-Detroit flight 253 who saved the passengers from the bombing attemps of a Nigerian native named Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Jasper Schuringa said that while he was on the plane, he heard a noise that reminded him of a firecracker, and someone yelling "Fire! Fire!". Although, he said he was only sure of the problem when started seeing smoke inside the airplane. When he went to look, he saw the Nigerian on his seat with his pants open and the explosive device between his legs. He then pulled the device from Abdulmutallab's legs and threw it away and screamed for water after trying to take out the fire with his own hands. He then grabbed Abdulmutallab from his seat and dragged him to the front of the airplane where he got him handcuffed with the help of a flight assistant. Also, Schuringa said he stripped off the rest of the clothes of the Nigerian to verify that he didn't have any other devices on him. After taking down the suspect, Schuringa said he had few minor injuries, but that he was fine and that he was happy to be there.When he returned to his seat, the other passengers applauded him, amazed by his heroic act.
